NGC 6751: The Glowing Eye Nebula (Picture of the Day)

NGC 6751
NGC 6751 (also known as the 'Glowing Eye Nebula') is a planetary nebula roughly about 6,500 light years away in the constellation of Aquila. It's estimated to have a diameter of about 0.8 light years (which is about 600 times the size of our Solar System). It is a great example of a simple planetary nebula having complex features. The central star has a surface temperature of about 140,000 degrees celsius.
