Abell 7: A Planetary Nebula (Picture of the Day)

Abell 7
Abell 7 is a faint planetary nebula which lies about 1,800 light years away in the constellation of Lepus. It's generally a spherical nebula about 8 light years in diameter. This nebula is estimated to be about 20,000 years old created by a white dwarf (now) which is about 10 billion years old. Our Sun will also have a similar fate in about 5 billion years.
