Omega Centauri
A globular cluster is a spherical collection of stars that orbits a galactic core. There are about 200 globular clusters which survive today, while Omega Centauri is the largest among them. It is also the brightest globular cluster with an apparent visual magnitude of 3.9. Omega Centauri is about 18,000 light years away in the constellation of Centaurus and has a diameter of about 150 light years. The age of the cluster is estimated to be around 12 billion years.
