NGC 6946: The Fireworks Galaxy
The Fireworks Galaxy is a spiral galaxy which is about 22 million light years away from Earth in the constellations Cepheus and Cygnus. Eight supernovas has been observed in the arms of this galaxy in the past century. Out of that 8 supernovas, three of the oldest ever supernovas where also detected in this galaxy and thus the galaxy gets the nickname, 'The Fireworks Galaxy'.

  1. These pictures are great!!! Looks like you had a fabulous. Cool photos although I do think its funny that cameras have firework settings considering New Years and the 4th are the only time most people see them!
