Verona Rupes: Tallest Cliff in the Solar System (Fact of the Day)

Verona Rupes on Miranda (Moon of Uranus)
Verona Rupes is a cliff which is estimated to be 20 km deep, in Miranda which is a moon of Uranus. This makes it the tallest cliff known in the Solar system. Just to give a comparison, it is about 10 times the depth of the Grand Canyon. This image was captured by Voyager 2 in 1986. It is still not clear of how it was created, but it mostly due to tectonic activities or could have been created by some large impact.
