Halley's Comet
Halley's comet is most popular short-period comet. It is also the first recognized periodic comet. It has an orbital period of 75.3 years. Thus, it is the only comet which is visible to the naked eye that can appear twice in the human lifetime. It also became the first comet to be observed in detail by spacecraft. Its last appearance was on February 1986 but it was not a favourable for viewing as Earth and the Comet were on the opposite sides of the Sun. The comet's next appearance would be on July 2061.
