Butterfly Nebula or Bug Nebula
Butterfly Nebula or Bug Nebula (NGC 6302) is a bipolar planetary nebula which is about 4,000 light years away in the constellation of Scorpius. The central star is a white dwarf which is one of the hottest stars in the galaxy with a surface temperature of more than 200,000 K. This implies that the star from which this formed should have been very large. The mass of the star is estimated to be about 0.64 solar masses. This nebula is said to have one of the most complex structures among the planetary nebula.
